We regret to announce that due to continuing uncertainty because of the Covid pandemic we have today decided to cancel the 2021 Póvoa World Open which was scheduled from 12th to 19th July. We have worked closely with the Organising Committee in Portugal in the hope that it would be possible to hold at least one competitive event ahead of the Paralympic Games. We have, however, concluded that there are still too many risks outside of our and the HOC’s control to hold this competition in a safe way.
We trust that all our Members and their athletes are safe and are managing to play some boccia at home or locally. We continue to work with the Tokyo team to make the Paralympic Games as safe as possible and look forward to seeing many of you in Tokyo.
