The IPC has announced the 2014 recipients of grants from its development arm, the Agitos Foundation. BISFed has been successful in its application for grant funding for the second year:
The 2014 grant will be spent on designing and implementing on-line education tools for training Referees and Classifiers which in turn will support the growth of our sport. Working with our technology partner, Sport80, design and development work will start in October 2014 and we expect to be able to launch the new on-line tools during 2015.
The 2013 award is being invested in a project called ‘Making Boccia Accessible’ which will deliver multiple sets of high quality boccia balls to selected countries in Africa, Asia and Central America. Delivery of the balls is expected to start in late 2014.
BISFed President, David Hadfield said “ I am delighted to have been successful in our application to the Agitos Foundation; one of BISFed’s main objectives is to grow and develop the sport, and the IPC has been very supportive of the initiatives we have taken. With their help we will be able to expand boccia much faster than we could otherwise”
