The third World Boccia Coach Level 1 Course of this year took place in April at the Faculty of Physical Education and Sport, Charles University, Prague, The Course was held by the Cerebral Palsy Czech Sports Federation with the full support of the Czech Paralympic Committee.
The course was attended by 12 Slovak and 2 Czech national Coaches. The course also welcomed 4 boccia athletes.
The Czech Republic hosted 3 Coaching courses in the years 2019, 2022 and 2023. In 2022 and 2023 the courses were held in conjunction with Charles University. This combination brought together knowledge on a range of topics including a comprehensive overview of anatomy and kinesiology, exercise physiology, sports training, compensation strategies, first aid and more.
A joint World Boccia Coach Level 1 Course is a new course developed by World Boccia which gives member Federations the opportunity to train local coaches using their National Curriculum and includes the World Boccia Coach Level 1 Course as one of the modules, delivered by World Boccia´s international tutors.
The Coach Level 1 course provides a wide range of knowledge and understanding of fundamental coaching principles (how-to-coach) and develops an understanding and application of the techniques of boccia (what-to-coach) in safe, appropriate, progressive, and fun coaching environments. The main outcome is to develop creative, competent and confident coaches.
World Boccia members can host World Boccia Coaching courses which are delivered by World Boccia International Coach Educators. We will be sending more information out about this soon.
