Your Board has agreed that the time is right to start working towards appointing an Athletes’ Council, a body which will have responsibility for representing the views of boccia athletes on how the sport can be developed, and for acting as the liaison between athletes and the day-to-day decision makers in BISFed.
As a first step towards appointing a full Athletes’ Council, we plan to appoint an Athlete Representative who will:
- Hep the Board to prepare the terms of reference for a future BISFed Athletes’ Council;
- Lead the subsequent process to elect and appoint a BISFed Athletes’ Council; and
- Observe at BISFed Board Meetings (teleconference calls approximately every two months) and advise the Board on matters of importance to boccia athletes.
