The team and pairs finals produced some fantastic performances in Hong Kong this morning.
There were no shocks in the BC1/BC2 team event. Favourites Thailand put on an incredible show beating Japan 13-0 in the final. The Japan team have had a number of excellent results leading up to the Regional Championships, and despite the heavy defeat the signs look good for them as their road to a home Paralympic Games begins.
The Korean BC3 pair got back to winning ways. After losing a close Paralympic final to Brazil in September they got back to winning ways in Hong Kong and this time, left the hosts to collect silver after a narrow 4-3 victory. Singapore received a well earned bronze medal after beating Australia in a tie break after the match had ended 4-4 in their bronze medal match.
Hong Kong finished top in the BC4 pairs category with Korea and China collecting silver and bronze respectively. A solid performance from China earned them their bronze but it was a much more tactical game that saw the hosts earn their first gold medal of the Championships.
The individual event starts later today with live scoring available on our results page.
