There are now under 2 weeks to go until the best boccia players in the world take to the stage in Beijing. The BISFed 2016 World Individual Championships will provide the final opportunity for athletes to earn valuable world ranking points ahead of the Rio Paralympic Games. 137 athletes from 31 countries will compete across the 4 events for the 12 medals on offer.
Joaquim Viegas, the Technical Delegate for the event, has been working closely with his assistant Cannie Leung for the last 6 months to ensure the preparation for the event goes well. The HOC provided a superb venue for the World Championships in 2014 and have assured BISFed that this years competition will be as equally impressive.
Gary Vander Vies will be the head referee for the event and is supported by over 20 other referees from around the world as well as many other liners and scorers nominated by the hosts.
